When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he responded by saying, “Love God, and Love People.” Jesus’ whole earthly teaching can be summed up in these few words. This is our heart at Beacon’s. The question naturally arises as to just how we are able to truly Love God and Love People: It’s simple, but it’s not easy.
We believe Jesus answered this question when he sent out his disciples after He had risen from the dead. He commissioned them to go and make disciples of all people, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey everything He commands.
There are, of course cultural and personal factors which can seem to complicate these commands of our Lord, but we are a simple church and we love Jesus’ simple responses and approach to ministry. These commands from Jesus, while sometimes difficult to implement, were nonetheless simple, and easy for His disciples to understand.
The reason being that the original disciples were connected to the vine (Jesus). They spent their days seeking God and longing to be more and more obedient. As their obedience grew, so did God’s Kingdom.
At Beacon’s Bible Church, we know that in order for Jesus’ Kingdom to come and His will to be done we need simply to be obedient. This is the heart behind every Sunday service, every bible study, every discipleship group, and every Outreach Event in which we engage, here at Beacon’s.
As we are obedient to God, we begin to see the world through the eyes of Jesus. Furthermore, in so doing, we enter into the life that He has planned for each of us. We would love for you to join us as we embark on this journey of obedience together. May Jesus bless you and lead you in His path of righteousness.
